Ellie's Canine Rescue & Rehome was established as a registered charity by Vicky and Nicole in 2019.
Based in the Greater Wellington region, we take in dogs from private surrenders as well as from many pounds across New Zealand and place them in foster care until they find their forever families.

All dogs that we save are fostered by amazing volunteers from around our community. We'd love you to join our superheroes.

We have dogs and puppies of all ages and breeds available for adoption. You need to own your own fully-fenced home.

We rely on donations, gifts, private grants and our own fundraising activities to help save as many dogs as possible.

DOG OF THE WEEK: CLARISSA

Clarissa is a beautiful natured 5mth old female Smithfield x Labrador. Clarissa is a very social girl who gets on well with all dogs and people (especially children). She would love a home with an active family to take her on adventures and bush walks.

We work on a case by case basis when it comes to surrendered dogs.
All dogs that we take in are placed into homes with our foster families.
We do not rehome aggressive dogs.
Our key concerns are aggression towards people, or other animals.
Please mention anything that might help us find a suitable placement.
Please be honest with the information that you provide as this directly can relate to the safety of our fosters, their families and us.
